Beyond the fletching: The Blackbird Podcast story
Welcome to the Blackbird Podcast, where we explore the world of archery in Ireland, celebrate artists juggling their craft with daily life, and champion all things positive. Do not be mistaken, Blackbird is not and does not claim to be an authority on archery in Ireland or anywhere else, that goes for anything that gets discussed on Blackbird Podcast, no Blackbird Podcast is the passion project that has become something more and is a medium that I keep learning from and about. So if you enjoy hearing an honest unscripted everyday perspective from an untrained mind which is experiencing archery in Ireland, life as an artist and stonemason, father and partner and full time dreamer with a tendency to talk about silly to serious and everything in between then Blackbird Podcast might ease your mind and maybe even make you laugh, either with me or at me its all good as long as you can laugh. Discover our journey, our commitment to honest storytelling, and why we're glad you're here to be a part of our growing community.

The Blackbird Podcast began with a simple desire: to speak on my paintings and the challenge of pursuing art while working as a stonemason in Ireland today. I initially envisioned inviting local artists to share their experiences of balancing creative passion with day jobs and family life. However, my growing involvement and passion for archery soon took centre stage. Now, the podcast has evolved into a space where I share conversations and experiences from the vibrant archery community, both at local club shoots and national and international events. My hope is to provide listeners with an honest perspective and answer some of the questions they might have about archery in Ireland today.
Our journey begins: From paint to arrow

Who's listening?
It's always a surprise to discover who tunes into the Blackbird Podcast, and that's something I truly cherish. I find it hard to define a specific ideal listener, as our audience is wonderfully diverse. What I can say is that the podcast offers a frank and honest personal perspective, often laced with a touch of Irish humour, both good and bad. If you appreciate authentic stories, genuine conversations, and a journey through the world of archery and creative pursuits in Ireland, you'll feel right at home here.

What makes us unique?
The Blackbird Podcast isn't about technical jargon; it's about the philosophical side of archery, life, and the unique flavour of Irish humour. We meet people from all walks of life, share observations, and explore dreams, all without a script. This unfiltered approach allows for genuine, spontaneous conversations and a truly personal connection. It's a space where stories unfold organically, and every episode is an authentic reflection of the experiences shared.
"The Blackbird Podcast is a breath of fresh air. It's authentic, often hilarious, and truly captures the spirit of the Irish archery community."
